For years, your calendar was full. Deadlines. Deliverables. Decisions. Then,oh… retirement?
You immediately picture, lots of space. Hmmm....? It’s both exciting—and unsettling.
Coming closer to my retirement decision I kept on asking myself questions such as:
💬 “Am I still relevant, can I still make a difference?”
💬 “How will I stay engaged without the day-to-day pressure?”
💬 “What will success look like going forward?”
💬 “How do I not become a nuisance at home 🏡"

Thinking of this may make you feel rather uncomfortable, but it is so natural, do not be afraid to embrace it:
✅ It’s okay to be nostalgic and grieve the old rhythm. ✅ It’s okay to want more than playing dominoes and grandkids. ✅ It’s okay to want to feel uncomfortable.
Be enouraged - retirement isn’t an ending, it's a fresh start. Think of it as entering a new season of fresh hope. Here's a great opportunity for you to reflect on some of those big questions you have'nt looked at for awhile :
Ø Redefining your purpose
Ø The meaning of life
Ø Re-evaluating what “freedom” now looks like.
Ø Determining what financial independence looks like
A recent study by Fidelity Investments published in the New York Post found that 45% of Generation X are not confident in their ability to retire when and how they want, highlighting the need for proactive planning and reimagining this life stage.
